Today PR Daily reported in an article that students from Panjab University’s School of Communications Studies were recently scammed by a New-Delhi based company. Ten students were selected after the company asked the university to interview their students.
During the screening process, female students were asked personal questions that made them feel uncomfortable. They later learned that the company did not even exist at the physical address they have been given. Students were advised not to continue contact with the company and the PR department of the company has not returned calls since.
This serves as a reminder to all students, not just journalism and public relations majors, to find out critical information about and the credentials of companies offering students jobs or internships before accepting any positions.
